I've only done one. It an 'organized' scrappy in batiks that my daughter picked out. Never having done one before, I did not realize how important the light/dark contrast was. When I matched up the fabrics in pairs of light/dark, I only considered their relationship to each other, not to the whole collection of fabrics. As a result the circles did not appear as dramatic as they should have. We also felt this large a quilt needed a place for the eyes to rest, so we did the semi-solid strips to break it up some. She likes the result and that's really what is important. Good luck. I would do this pattern again.
