I went into the closest LQS to me once, when I had started on my first quilt (a pinwheel). When I told the lady what I was working on she began to tell me that pattern is NOT for beginners and how beginners usually make so many mistakes and how all beginners should take a class and learn to do things the right way (which she wouldn't elaborate on). It was in the way she said everything and I began referring to her in my mind as the Quilt Nazzi. I went to go back there a few weeks ago to look for some specialty fabric and the store is gone. I get much more helpful information and much nicer ladies at my local FabricLand.
