To add my 2 cents to what Pam said - I too find that quilters are the most caring, generous of people. I also find that gardeners are too. Interesting, I think.
Among other things, I make flannel receiving blankets and knit/crochet hats for a local hospital in need and it gives me such a good feeling to know that a baby who might have nothing to go home in can at least be wrapped in a blanket with a little hat on it's head for warmth.
