Hi MJ - I use the 60° Clearview Triangle as recommended in the book. It's important to get this one especially if you ever plan to do the hollow cubes as the directions are geared towards the markings on this ruler. In any case, I wouldn't recommend the Marti Mitchell type with the points cut off for OBWs - I bought one of those at first and it's a P in the A! If you can't get the Clearview at your local store, you should be able to get it online - that's how I got mine, from Switzerland would you believe! France is in the Dark Ages quilt shop wise! :D
MJ, you can use any ruler that has a 60 degree angle. I don't have a special one, my regular ruler works perfectly well. While a special one would be nice, it really is not necessary. Good luck.
