Looking through a web site I noticed a project sewing two placemats together to make a simple bag. I wonder if this might be a good start for those who are uncertain about following a pattern. They can figure out a simple handle to attach to each side and have an easy bag at the end. Just going through the motions with a successful outcome might give them a little confidence. Just a thought.
