i use hot soapy water. I have three boxes of baking soda. first when it gets old for cooking, I put the opened box in the back of my fridge to absorb the oders, then I finally pour it into my garbage disposal and after letting it sit for a few minuts, I turn on the disposal and wash it down the drains. I rotate these boxes. adding a new one for cooking.
