You can buy plastic (mylar?) hexagons that have a little hole in the center. Once the fabric has been basted around the template and the petal has been joined with others to make a flower, and you have a few flowers joined together, you can pop the templates out and re-use them. I'm always looking for the easy way and don't think I would like to cut a gillion little hexagons.
