I've made a couple extra long (my SILs are both 6'4" ) couch quilts for my DDs and SILs using just a top and fleece backing too. They love them that way. The traditional quilts with top, batting and backing all stay on the beds.
Thanks for the help. This time I will definitely use no batting and use fleece.
