Yesterday I read in our local newspaper that the local fabric shop will be holding a sewing day to make pillowcases to meet a challenge shown in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. I am really wanting to help with something so last night I went through my stash and picked out some bright colored fabric. 1 yard each of 2 different fabrics will make 2 pillowcases. It took me about 15 minutes to make two pillowcases. So fast and fun! I now have fabric cut to make another 12 pillowcases. I might not get the chance to attend the sewing day, but I will be donating at least 14 pillowcases to the cause. I figure sewing 30 minutes each evening will complete 12 cases in just 3 evening. I am just so excited that something this fast and fun might bring some sunshine to someone!
