This is that "Sunny Day" (my name) pattern I love. I've already made two of it--a keeper (Sunny Day), and I think one will be sold (sunflower one) even though it's not back from the quilter's yet. It sold off my website. :D
I had a heck of a time deciding on the 5 strips--found the blue--a perfect match--in my stash closet--a miracle indeed. The green is actually a print that goes with the daisy fabric. But I don't like how it matches any better than the others.
I could not figure out the arrangement of the 5 strips for the one square, so I finally asked my daughter for help. Without hesitation she said, "Mom, go read, orange, yellow, green, blue. It's scientific. Rainbow colors...." I laid it out that way, and a few other ways, took pictures to look at, and sure enough, it was easily the winner. I was going to give her Bio/Chem college major the credit, but she gave the credit to Barney--that purple dinosaur she and her brother used to watch. Seems he had a song about rainbow colors she remembers.
This is 5/12 rows to be done. It'll have 3 borders.
