My sister told me one day when we were teenagers "don't write a check with your mouth that your body can't cash." I guess I should have been insulted but I busted up laughing-so did she.
My all time favorite is: "You're not the only toad in this puddle". My mother used to say that alot, usually followed by "young lady".
