Whole cloth is a quilt that is not pieced, and is made with one large piece of fabric, or two pieces seamed together like the 108 " for backings etc. and this whole piece of fabric is quilted with desireable design. It is called a whole cloth quilt, because the fabric hasn't been cut and pieced. Hope this answers your question, and is understandable. My first definition about cheater cloth was completely wrong, do I deleted the definition. Gerbie
