I can buy batting in 93" and 122" wide rolls, yes it is folded. I have found there is a very little price difference in the wider rolls, so that's all I carry, and sometimes it ends up saving the customer some $$$.
For a 70x94 quilt, here's how much would be needed (I need at least 8" extra length and width):
93" wide batting would need 102" (2.83 yd)
122" wide batting would need 78" (2.43 yd)
It's almost a 1/2 yard less by buying the wider width. And on larger quilts, there's no need to join pieces.
Clear as mud??
Yes, I understand. I think I'll try this the next time I'm ready to make a sandwich. Thanks.
