after you make one you will discover that:
1. you will have another cut to start sewing
2. another group of fabrics lined up to begin
3. any number of pieces of fabric to "do later"
4. your thinking will be impaired every time you go to a quilt shop to the point you can't see any other fabric than stack-n-whack prints.
For the original it takes 8 repeats or about 6.5 yds and about 4.5 yds for the background and borders.
Other designs require less repeats. But all of them are based on number of repeats down the edge of the fabric. You can't use the same motif from any other place in the quilt. These can be used for other sets of blocks beyone the 8.
