The summer I was 8 years old and at my grandmothers. She did not have a tv for that matter I did not at home either. No neighbors so grandma got out some quilt blocs that she had cut out. She called them bricks.
She showed me how to sew on her treadle sewing machine. Everytime I went there I worked on the quilt.
The next thing was Girlscouts and then I was on my way to sewing.
