Yes and most of the ladies in my quilt chapter kick off their shoes to sew. I have a problem when we take our machines to the rec center because I won't take my shoes off and have problems controlling the machine with the shoe on. With my one Pfaff, the design of the foot pedal caused a lump to form on the outside edge of the right foot and at that time, for a full year, I had to wear shoes to sew with that machine. I noticed that that area of my foot was sitting off the right corner of the
foot pedal causing fluid to form there and the podiatrist inserted a pad inside my shoes. During that year, I bought a new Pfaff with a different foot pedal, a larger one and I am back to sewing barefoot again.
