I guess the condition of the HL stores around Houston may vary, I haven't been to others here lately ...
It sure isn't due to a LACK of quilters ... Houston has TONS of quilters and so does Texas ... guess it must be different mgmt /regions than y'all have in NE ?
We ARE fortunate to have a lot of great quilt shops here !! :)
