This is a commission quilt! And I never dreamed I'd ever make one - the thought never even crossed my mind. I've worked on group quilts for the homemakers and the guild but those were 'donations' of fabric/time/etc.

I'm on facebook and a lot of my high school classmates are also (long ago and in a galaxy far, far away).. anyway, one couple is in a garden club and every year the club has a quilt raffle - but this year they had no one to make a quilt - the lady who had been doing it doesn't want to any more. So, dilemma - the husband - who was my classmate mentioned to his wife that one of his classmates was apparently 'into quilting' and why didn't she check it out... so messages were sent, phone calls made, etc. I sent her to look at my quilts online and she was supposed to have the other club members decide, etc etc. I didn't hear from her for weeks so kind of figured that was that. I had told her it wouldn't offend me at all if they didn't like my quilts or whatever.

So a couple of weeks ago I get a call that, yes, they do want me to make a quilt - and that they usually get it before November. Knowing me I decided to go ahead and get it done then I won't have to worry about it.
I just need to get it on the frame and quilted (machine).
Not making a lot of money because it is a charity quilt but I think it's kind of neat how it all happened.
