No, I can't say it's bearding. There are just some fibres of the batting edges that are not covered with fabric and you can brush them off very easily. They don't come through the fabric, just lay on it. I used a lighter colored thread for quilting I tried to avoid points where stitches meet - but obviously this doesn't work perfectly.
