Integrity is in short supply, isn't it? I'm always amazed that doing the right thing is considered an oddity. The store manager should have exhibited good customer service, short-circuited that long process for you and thanked you for your honesty and figured out the rest of the process of crediting the money back to the cash drawer without you hanging around. I mean, your ice cream could have been melting! Good for you for not caving in and seeing the process to the end. A good lesson for everyone involved.
