If it is just one seam, could you applique something fun over the seam? Maybe something that your daughter likes (flowers, butterflies, ladybugs....)? If you do a basic applique, where you turn the seam allowance under as you go, then you can just use a basic tiny stitch to secure the applique shape to the top layer of the quilt. It's not hard - maybe a little tedious.
