I tell myself and my husband that figuring out the amount of money spent is just not allowed. For me it would take all the fun out of the project.
My first real quilt of any size started out with buying one charm pack on Ebay. Then decided I had to make a quilt from that line, so I ordered three more. Then two quilt shops for sashing and border as well as a fabric order from an online store. It started out in my mind as a throw for the couch, but now will be about queen size, I think. I ordered another charm pack to make it a little bigger. And am pretty sure I will need a little more for the binding. Oh, and I guess it needs a back and batting too. My sweet husband keeps telling me to get what I need, don't go cheap. I suppose I could add up receipts, but I don't really need or want to know.
