I am contacted by a guild (Tewksbury in January) to be the speaker at their meeting. I take a 14 page handout on machine applique and about 30 different pieces. Some are finished quilts, some are pictures of quilts scattered around the country, many are tops and pieces in progress. As I describe the various quilts and procedures, such as fabrics, threads, fusibles, changing pieced patterns into applique or embroidery patterns and photos into applique quilts I also give out hints and tips which include hand applique, hand quilting etc.. Pieces get passed around along with patterns, books and other goodies. Technically a typical trunk show is a good sized collection of finished quilts with a narrative included.
Hope this helps.
