You can use some fusible interfacing on the back of the knit squares to help stabilize them for quilting. Carefully iron it on then re-sew over the seams. Sew the rows together, find a backing, and make a quilt with no batting. I doubt it will be getting a lot of use if you want it as a keepsake.
