And perhaps add an offwhite/beige tone on tone too. Then you could alternate them across the rows. Each different background makes the Dresden look so different, I think it would look lovely with all 4 colors for background squares, and each one would show off your plates in a different way. I would go dark blue, dark green, light blue, off white, dark blue.
next row, dark green, light blue, offwhite, dark blue, dark green,
next row,.. so on.. or if you are only putting 4 across, DB, DG, LB, OW; NEXT ROW: DG, LB, OW, DB; NEXT: LB, OW, DB, DG; NEXT: OW, DB, DG, LB, ETC.
