Thanks for all the great comments! I used all different widths, 1/2" to 2". Karen Griska of selvagequilts.com recommends 1-1/2" but I found that can really cut into your yardage for other uses and depending on the fabric/selvage it would get covered up anyway. I'm cutting most of mine 3/4 to 1" now.
