As you all know, our young friend Alu is headed off to college in August. She has asked me to make a quilt for her to use in her dorm room. I have been thinking about this for a while now and would like to try this.

We can all go to college with her by signing her quilt. I was thinking about people making signature squares measuring 3.5". If you want, you can add an encouraging phrase, scripture or friendly words. Please be sure to include your board name on the blocks.

3 1/2 inch UNFINISHED Scrappy Signature Blocks. Directions for the block can be found here.

You make as many blocks as you would like. The only thing that needs to be alike is to begin with a white block.

Please send them to me by July 30th. I will be putting the quilt together the first week in August, quilting it the second and mailing as close to the 15th as I can.

To make each block you will need:
1 3½” Square of white fabric
2 2½” Squares of a print
fabric pen

Info: Alu's favorite colors are blue and purple. Her school colors are blue and white. Please don't feel limited, use your scraps. The more squares I collect, the prettier it will be.

Thank you in advance. We are all busy and I know what ever time this takes is sacrificed from somewhere else. PM me for the address, Gwyn

A special thank you to NorBanaQuilts. I copied the directions from her Scrappy Siggie Block activity. NorBana - I owe you one.
