pigs in a blanket a/k/a halupki a/k/a piggies a/k/a cabbage rolls here in the great NE, home of wonderful Polish and German cooks:

hamburger, rice, salt, pepper, egg. mush together. form into rolls the size of your cupped hand. lay onto a boiled cabbage leaf. wrap like a diaper on the sides and roll up. place seam edge down onto casserole dish. cover with tomato soup and bake until done.

you described 'little smokies' to us. want a neat variation of them- wrap them in bacon and place on cookie sheet covered with alum. foil. sprinkle with brown sugar. bake until bacon is done. I use 1 package of little smokies, 1 lb. of bacon cut up in thirds. probably a heart attack waiting to happen, bu they are sooo good.
