I bought Night and Day by Eleanor Burns recently and couldn't resist trying it RIGHT THEN....made a lime and dark purple wallhanging (no, there are no directions for a wallhanging but a table runner has 4 blocks and so does my wall hanging, OK?) and I LOVE the technique! It's a little wasteful on fabric but there are directions on how to use every scrap, so all works out! Highly recommend this one!
