One of the things I do is to use only one needle with a decorative thread on one of the loops. The only thing I wish my inexpensive serger did is to sew with only two threads to make the cable look stitch, but…
As soon as I can I will take some pictures of my heirloom baby quilt and place it in this forum.
Here is a list of great books on serging. Excepting the last one, these books were chosen not because of projects, but for the different techniques used in them since, as I mention before, I do not sew clothes.
*SERGER SECRETS from America’s Top Serger Experts – Rodale Inc.
*SEWING WITH SERGERS The Complete handbook For Overlock Sewing – a Palmer/Pletsch Serger Publication
*REATIVE SERGING The Complete handbook For Decorative Overlock Sewing by the same publisher as the previous book
*THE SERGER BOOK IDEA A collection Of Inspiring Ideas from the previous publisher
*THE NEW SEWING WITH A SERGER a Singer publication
THE ART OF CREATIVE OVERLOCKING by Anne Van Der Kley a Janome publication
*SERGER SAVVY Edited by Jeanne Straufer a House of White Birches
*DISTINCTIVE SERGER GIFTES & CRAFTTS An Idea Book For All Occasions by Naomi Backer & Tammy Young a Chilton Publication
Hope you enjoy it.
