I volunteer twice a year at the local (not so local to me) sewing machine store to teach baby quilts for Project Linus, each is three Saturday mornings, the class is free to those that donate a quilt. I base the class on a 9 patch variation; with (3) 1yds of coordinateing fabric you can make make three tops, each one takes one yard for backing.

I also donate baby quilts to teens to project linus; I drop off at two locations, one in MA and one in Maine.
I make quilts to give to Military folks also.
