I sew a lot; therefore, use a lot of needles. I was advised that if a trash hauler gets pricked by any kind of needle, they can refuse to pick up your trash in the future! I use old pill bottles, plastic boxes new pins come in, a large vitamin bottle, anything I can seal with duct tape and dispose of the in trash safely. For those who 'don't go through many needles', are you sure you're changing your needle often enough? A change after 8 hours of use, or after every project, is a good rule of thumb. Needles slightly bent or with burrs can do damage to your machine.
