Ye, I have put a backing on a yo yo quilt. This was a vintage quilt handed down to me from my grandmother and mother, I did tack some of the yo yo's down thru the hole to the backing. This helps stabilize it. I was afraid of mine falling apart as the fabrics are very old and I wanted to display it.
