Go with your gut. They are both very nice. I wanna vote for #2 'cause I always vote for the underdog. And if you aren't making it a bit wider (#1), it isn't symmetrical. I would want to have those red diamonds in each corner. With #2 you get to decide how much and how big you want to invest in. Just my thoughts.
