I did my first class about 25 years ago but the teacher made it so complicated I never completed the quilt. Here in Australia back then there was very little info on quilting and patchwork. I then just basically taught myself using any info I could find. With working full time and raising 3 sons I have only made 10 quilts(possibly also due to making them all by hand).Since I have purchased a new sewing machine one month ago (and loving it} I have made 1 baby quilt, one wall hanging, top of single bed quilt. Quilting in Australia is now very popular. Wish fabric was as cheap as in the America!!!!
