I'm especially fond of scrappy-type quilts so I usually purchase fat quarters. This way I get great look with lots of variety. I also get a great deal of pleasure just looking at all the different fabrics, colors and textures piled up on my shelves awaiting projects. I purchase yards of fabric for the borders and backs after I piece the tops & haven't had a problem coming up with something that matches well. I buy yardage for specific projects and when I find a good deal on fabric that could be used for backgrounds, borders and or backings. I just love it all!
