Sorry you have had such a bad experience with basting spray your first time. I use it all the time and love it. It is quick and easy and really keeps the fabric in place for FMQ. However, you MUST use an old sheet or newspaper at least 12"larger than your project to accommodate the overspray. I haven't had to clean anything us yet, so no help with that.
