I've just recently bought two quilt kits, one wall hanging and one quilt size. I've had a little issue with both so I don't think I'll be going the kit route again. I've learned that just because the kit advertises being able to make a quilt like the one pictured, doesn't always mean that will really be the case (different fabrics inside the kit than what are pictured). Sometimes picking out fabric is a little overwhelming for me, but I always end up with all fabric that I like, no surprises when I open the box. That being said though, I don't think it's a matter of kits being bad or good, it's just an item that some people like and other's don't care for.
