Hi
Batiks are specially processed fabric using several dye baths and wax to creature the designs or textures. At the end of the process they are rinsed in very hot water to remove the excess dye and wax. As a result they tend to be very color fast and pre-shrunk. I prewash and dry mine like-colors together. If your still skeptical, Shout makes a product called COLOR CATCHER they look like dryer sheets but they are for the wash and they trap excess dyes. (They really do work well).Hope this info helps
I used the Color Catcher on my batiks too. There was only one of them that had a teeny tiny bit of color on the sheet when they were finished. Glad they don't bleed like a lot of other fabrics.
