I keep a roll of the 1/4 inch fusbile on hand for those kind of repairs. I wash all of the prayer quilts for church & sometimes have a seam fray. I tear of a piece slightly long than the frayed area, take a pin & gently lift the fabric & slide the fusible tape under the fabric & press. According to how long it is I sometimes take a few stitches in the ditch catching both fabrics. Hope this helps. When I have tried the liquids they seem to leave a shiny spot...maybe I use too much.
