Like you I have 5 machines. My oldest is a 1905 Singer. It sews beautifully! I use if from time to time and is great when we have a power outage. I can keep on sewing and not be concerned about the things my husband frets about like no tv. My next machine is a 1935 White. It too sews beautifully. It is an early electric machine with a nice quiet motor. I don't use it but rarely only because I think it is fragile in the tension. My most used machine in the Janome that I bought about 20 years ago. I love it and is is a faithful servant. I have a Janome serger. It is a power horse! I also have 2 embroidery machines. One I have always ready to go if I want to take a sewing machine with me and the other one is a newer machine that My BIL got me as a trade for a quilt I made that he wanted. He was taken with the purples in the card trick pattern. It wasn't even a well made quilt. I was practicing stippling and it had a whole bunch of jagged line edges, not smooth at all. But I am pleased with the new sewing machine. You are right though we can only use one at a time.
