We don't really have jackalopes in Texas either. We do have jackrabbits though, along with a multitude of other creatures. Rattlesnakes and copperheads being some of the most dangerous critters around. We do see an occasional mountain lion every once in a while and ususally lose a couple of baby calves a year.
