I always like to read the posts where people found some good deals, I had one yesterday. The ad said sewing items were included so I found the sale. The sale wasn't too big, and no sewing machines in sight, so I picked up a roll of Hobbs batting. The young lady in charge asked me if I quilted and in learning I did, she asked if I was interested a box of fabric that had been her Mom's stash. It was all quilting cotton, mostly from Joann's in the past few years. I asked how much and she said the whole box for $5. I make crafts as well as quilts so that worked for me. I got home and took everything out to launder it, and realized it had all been individually marked - a total of $57 worth. It took me almost 3 hours to get it all ironed. There were a few strips and squares all cut, but most was 1/2 to 3 yards cuts, I estimate 40 yards or more. There is a 2 yard cut of a pretty black and olive by RJR that should make a lovely purse. I'm having such fun just looking at it I almost hate to put it away. It's like a rainbow sitting on the sewing table! She was happy it was finding a new home and would be appreciated! Someday I'll find that vintage machine, but for now, I'm quite happy.
