We have earwigs, they like moisture. They won't hurt the cats, they don't carry diseases, they will let out a stink when touched. They can pinch, but that doesn't hurt. Clear debris away from the house, get rid of cool moist areas, that should keep them away.
The good thing about earwigs is they will eat your aphids and other bugs.
