When I was 5 years old I was using a treadle machine and ran the needle thru my finger. My Mom took the needle out of the machine- leaving it my finger. Took me into the bathroom and extracted the needle- poured on peroxide and then sent me back to finish my sewing!
If she had said" That's what you get for playing with the machine" I probably would never have developed a love for sewing.
