I've had a great friend for almost 10 years- Dani. I don't think in all those years I ever remembered her birthday. OF COURSE she's a great friend and says she doesn't care... but I do!

So this year, I was actually on top of it, and started and.... >drum roll< finished... yes, finished, a quilt in time to send to Seattle for her birthday on June 1st! Can you even believe it?! I enclosed a card that only read, "I REMEMBERED!!!"

The fabric was actually for another quilt that I decided against, then when I thought about making one for her, I realized how perfectly it fit her personality and taste.

When she got it, she texted me and gushed about how perfect it was for her, and how did I know she liked those colors so much, and her grandma quilts and this was 'BY FAR' the prettiest quilt she'd ever seen... Of course it fed my already giant ego  (and sorry, grandma!) but all the same... I'm glad to know she loves it!

It was a cinch to piece the top, I did easy stitch-in-the-ditching, I used a garage sale find cheater fabric for the border, and I think it turned out nicely! Most of all I'm happy that she'll know that at least ONCE in our friendship, I remembered her birthday. Teehee!
