If you cut the ties in such a way that yu have the end finished, ie the point folded uner, all that is necessary is to stitch them together. They would be already wedge shaped like for the plate. Just wack them off to length and stitch them together. Ot cut pieces and use a woven interfacng at the wide end to give you a smooth edge. The dresden plate isn't hard to do. It was the very 1st one I learned to do.
