I did that with handbags. I wanted to learn to quilt. I saw a quilted hand bag (Bow Tucks) and had to make one for myself. After that, I was going to learn to make bed quilts by practicing different blocks and turning them into pot holders. Well, someone saw my handbag and wanted one. Then another, then another. I finally had to say "No more." But how could I? I didn't have the heart. I tell everyone that I will email them with the list of materials they would need to purchase when they purchase said materials (even the tread) I will make them one. This cut down the asking considerably. I only hove one friend who actually went out and purchased materials. She must really want one! Was the pattern you purchased at Micheals a free one? I'll be sure to look for it soon!

It is cotton yarn. Called Peaches n cream or Sugar n cream. I found this pattern at Michaels and decided that was the one to learn on. Wow, didn't know that was an intermediate pattern! Now I just keep cranking them out. I need to expand and learn to crochet something else but I just love to make these. Everyone around here that I've given one to won't use them as dishcloths. My friend put a candle in the middle of hers and it sits on a table in her living room!
