Several family members have told me that at the end of
the school year, the ones with rich daddys simply throw
out most of their apartment supplies and walk away.
Anyone could pick up the almost new bedding, toasters,
etc that the more wealthy ones don't want any more.
My husband told me that he and a room mate furnished
their entire apartment with street side finds (Yes, a heck of
a long time ago, but in some places still happens) and then
there's Crag's List and FreeCycle. And thrift shops and yard
sales and Flea Markets. Lots of ways to save money if you
aren't a NEW freak and can't afford new things.
