Saint Simons would be about 2 hours from Savannah ... give or take ... and depending on traffic on 95.
There are 2 "official" quilt shops in savannah. one is called Colonial Quilts. the other is Let's Sew. I googled "quilt shops in savannah" and there they were. :-)

i have never been to either one. i must confess to having very little interest in "the shops". beyond atmosphere, they don't offer anything i can't get elsewhere for free or at much lower prices. since both shops are out of my way on a typical trip to savannah, i've not yet bothered to look for them.

YOU would certainly be worth the trip, so i'd be tickled pink to drive up and wander through both of them with you while you're here. :P :P :P
